The United Way of Onslow County is kicking off this year’s fundraising campaign to give away grants to organizations in the community that help those in need.

United Way was able to raise $200,000 last year, which they gave away to organizations like the Boys and Girls Club, Onslow Victims Center and others. Now the goal is $250,000.

If you donate $104 or $2 a week throughout the year through their incentive challenge, you have a chance of winning a new 2026 Cheverolet Trax.

“It’s very important not only for us as United Way, an organization that supports local nonprofits, but really for the residents that need it,” said Raquel Painter, United Way President of Onslow County. “It’s a really tough time. A lot of businesses are still recovering from COVID. Prices have gone up. Grocery bills are up. We got a lot of food deserts in our area. So this really makes a difference in a person’s life and how they live their life.”

You can also donate throughout the year through a payroll deduction.
