SIA Group raises funds for United Way program

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — Don Mills, president of SIA Group, a full-service insurance agency with seven offices throughout North Carolina and in Blacksburg, Va., haSIA Group Logos announced that the firm’s employees have collected and donated more than $8,000 to benefit the United Way of Onslow County.

Through the United Way, donors can select which local organization that would like their money to support, and SIA Group chose to focus on CHEW, a program working to serve underprivileged children who lack enough food to eat over the weekends. The CHEW program assists children in Onslow County by providing them with backpacks filled with healthy, easy-to-prepare meals over the weekend. CHEW partners with local businesses, churches and United Way of Onslow County to provide a lifeline to those children who may go without food outside of school.

“The United Way of Onslow County has been a great nonprofit organization to support, and this fundraiser has been a great way to bring our employees together to combat an ongoing issue in America,” said Mills. “These donations show that SIA Group is more than an insurance agency – we are a family committed to the communities we serve.”
