United Way of Onslow County 2017-2018 Grant Application
United Way has evloved from its roots as a fundraising organization to a critical community convener by mobilizing the community to identify underlying conditions while bringing people and organizations together to create collective impact. United Way continually seeks to facilitate a shared community vision and coordinate action across a diverse coalition which produces measured results by sustained efforts.
Grant funding is available to providers of health and human services which fall within three focus impact areas: Health, Education, and Income. As always, funding remains extremely competitive and applicants are encouraged to make requests for critical program service needs. Programs awarded a one-year community investment grant will receive awards over a ten-month funding period beginning mid-September through mid-June, 2018
Two community information sessions are scheduled on May 4th at 9am and May 10th at 4pm. Both information sessions will take place at the United Way Main Office located at 403 N. Bayshore Blvd. Jacksonville, NC 28540 to provide guidance to any agency completing the application. Attendance at an information session is strongly encouraged. If your agency would like to attend an information session, please contact the United Way office to RSVP at 910-347-2646. You must RSVP within 48 hours of the meeting to attend.
Annual investment program grants are based on program effectiveness, organizational capacity, collaboration, and the ability to meet United Way’s recommendations and reporting requirements.Ultimately, dollars available for investment grants are determined by contributions donors make to the general, undesignated fund. Contributions designated for a specific agency will continued to be honored.
RFP Grant Application Timeline
February 28: 2017-2018 RFP released
May 31 : RFP Submission Deadline, 11:59 pm
June 1-16: Agency Presentations: United Way will schedule a time during this window for applicants to complete a presentation of their proposal(s) to the Community Investment Committee volunteers.
End of June: Board of Directors will vote on the funding recommendations submitted by the Community Investment Committee
July: Agencies will be informed whether or not their programs(s) will receive a 2016-2017 grant and MOU’s and EFT forms signed by agencies receiving a grant award.
Mid-September: First EFT will be processed for all programs receiving grant award funding.
